What is Crossfit?

Do I need to be fit to try a CrossFit Class?

No, you do not need to be already fit to start CrossFit classes. CrossFit is designed to be scalable, meaning it can be adjusted to any fitness level.

Your CrossFit Setanta coach will ensure that any movements you undertake will match your ability and if you remain consistent in your training, you will see the changes happening in your strength and cardio capabilities.

Do I need to download apps ?

Yes, you will need two apps and that’ s a good thing! It makes managing your membership easy.

PushPress Members App (blue runner icon) – used to book classes / cancel classes and manage your membership details.

SugarWod App – this allows you to see the workouts for the week, log your lifts, log your scores and manage your progress.

Also, you can fist bump other members on their scores and vice versa – and it is always great to receive a fist bump after a hard workout!

How do I book classes, or cancel?

At CrossFit Setanta, you can book your classes up to a week in advance, with final bookings an hour before the session is scheduled. 6.15am sessions must be booked before 11pm the night before.

Cancellation of sessions MUST be within the window which is up to 1 hour before. If you cancel after the cancellation window, this is a late cancellation. If you hit 3 late cancellations, you will be charged 5 Euro on the account.

This policy is in the members best interest. More popular class times have wait lists and it’s important you cancel as early as possible to allow others to get the class they want.

Can I see the workouts in advance?

Yes you can!

The SugarWod App manages this. You can see the workouts for the week, log your lifts, log your scores and manage your progress. Also, you can fist bump other members on their scores and vice versa. When you sign up to the gym you will need a code to join our track. But, please don’t cherry pick your workouts, come when you plan to come.

Do you run Gymnastic or Olympic lifting Classes?

If the session on the day has these in it we coach in the session.

However, from time to time we offer workshops or technical sessions and these are open to all members to book on the app.

Do Members know each other?

We are proud that there is a vibrant community at Setanta who support and encourage each other.

We run in house fun CrossFit competitions a few times a year, sometimes for charity.

We organise hikes, other activities, nights out and run a members WhatsApp (which is optional to join).
